CMA Awards’ Strong Ratings Yield Victory over “The X Factor”

Though “The X Factor” held up well, it ultimately fell short in the ratings war with ABC’s CMA Awards broadcast.

Based on fast national results, the CMA Awards improved slightly to a very strong 4.8 adults 18-49 rating with 16.3 million viewers, more than enough to best “The X Factor” (3.7, 10.1 million). Still, given the relevant competition from a music broadcast, FOX has to be happy with how “X Factor” performed.

Elsewhere, CBS was down but not bad with “Survivor” (3.1, 10.6 million), “Criminal Minds” (3.4, 11.3 million) and “CSI” (2.5, 10.1 million). NBC delivered “Up All Night” (1.8, 4.8 million), a slightly-improved “Harry’s Law” (1.3, 7.1 million) and the aging “Law & Order: SVU” (1.9, 6.6 million).
