“Terra Nova,” “House” Ratings Improve, But Neither Truly Impressive

Ratings for FOX’s “Terra Nova” and “House” both rebounded from their Halloween lows, but even with the improved numbers, neither is performing particularly impressively.

“Terra Nova” was up all the way to a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating and 7.7 million, a healthy, welcome improvement but likely still not enough to match the high expectations for the big budget series. One certainly cannot assume “Terra Nova” will be cancelled with these numbers, which are tolerable for a series in 2011, but they’re probably not strong enough to guarantee a future.

“House” followed at a 2.7 and 7.5 million, an improvement far slimmer than that realized by “Terra Nova.” At this point, “House” is really showing its age, and it is hard to envision the show lasting much longer.
