NBC is not totally sold on the value of its sophomore drama “Harry’s Law” and freshman “Prime Suspect,” but it is at least considering giving them a chance to prove their worth.
Both dramas received orders for six additional scripts, a sign that NBC is definitely not unequivocally committed to doing away with the series at midseason. Neither has delivered in the adults 18-49 ratings, although “Prime Suspect” is a high-profile project with a high-profile star and has shown at least some hints of stabilizing (especially if the Monday re-runs fuel more interest in the series).
“Harry’s Law,” meanwhile, remains a draw in the overall viewers column (it skews very old) and scored a first-season Emmy nomination for star Kathy Bates. It has also never received strong lead-in support–whether in its original Monday at 10PM timeslot or its current Wednesday at 9PM timeslot.
