Gwyneth Paltrow’s three-episode stint on FOX’s comedy “Glee” garnered her an Emmy–the actress scored the Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award at Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Held in advance of next week’s Primetime Emmy celebration, the Creative Arts awards recognize certain on-screen performances and behind-the-scenes successes. Paltrow won the guest actress in a comedy prize, while Loretta Devine took the dramatic honor for “Grey’s Anatomy.”
On the guest actor side, Paul McCrane won for drama on “Harry’s Law,” while Justin Timberlake pulled a prize for his comedy guest spot on “Saturday Night Live.”
Other winners included “Boardwalk Empire” for drama casting, “Glee” for comedy casting and “Mildred Pierce” for movie/miniseries casting. Predictably, “The Walking Dead” scored the award for prosthetic makeup.
“Futurama” was crowned the top animated series, while broadcasts like “Hot in Cleveland,” “Mildred Pierce,” “Boardwalk Empire” and the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards won prizes in art direction.
