Charlie Sheen’s “Anger Management” Close to Getting Showrunner

THR reports that the “Anger Management” showrunner hunt has narrowed to three veteran names.

Sheen’s “Anger Management,” which is expected to be shopped to a cable network that would be looking to order as many as ninety episodes if a test batch of about ten did well, has been banking on getting a comedy veteran as its overseer.

The search is now apparently down to Tom Straw (“Cosby,” “Night Court,” “Parker Lewis”), Chris Case (“Mad About You,” “Spin City”) and Bruce Helford (“Roseanne,” “The Drew Carey Show”).

Backed by Lionsgate TV, the television adaptation of the Adam Sandler movie will be pitched to networks once the showrunner is secured.
