In a note that speaks to the tragic inability of ABC Family’s “Greek” to parlay its critical acclaim and cult following into ratings success, Monday’s series finale barely registered in the viewership department.
The hourlong send-off scored just a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 923,000 viewers. Leading out of “Pretty Little Liars,” which garnered a 1.1 rating and 2.953 million viewers, the performance was quite disappointing.
Worse, the show actually dropped a tenth of a point in the young adults demo from the penultimate episode, indicating the total lack of special interest in the show’s final hour.
Viewership was up slightly over the prior week, thanks notably to a rise in the teens 12-17 demo (1.0 rating versus a 0.7 rating). The show lost steam among women 18-34, dropping from a 1.1 to a 0.8.
