— Teasing a follow-up to The Rock’s most-recent promo, WWE headliner John Cena promised to deliver the “final knockout” in their back-and-forth on RAW this Monday.
“And I will come to raw for bizzness. Final knockout this monday on raw. HUSTLE. LOYALTY. RESPECT,” wrote Cena on Twitter.
— Regarding rumors of Strikeforce champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos jumping to WWE Yahoo! Sports spoke to WWE officials who deny that an offer was made to the dominant female fighter.
Under Santos’ “championship clause” with Strikeforce, she is linked to the company until she loses the title. Any crossover appearance for WWE would thus have to be approved by Strikeforce officials.
Strikeforce has definitely given indications it would be more open to a pro wrestling-MMA crossover than UFC, but should WWE actually approach Strikeforce about Cyborg (and there is no definitive word the interest is serious), it is unclear whether the restrictions Strikeforce would place on the arrangement would align with WWE’s own vision for the fighter.
