Colin Firth Predictably Wins Oscar for “The King’s Speech”

With one major award remaining–that of the Best Picture–the predictably is again in full swing. Colin Firth won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, confirming that all four acting awards went to the odds-on favorites.

Firth’s turn in “The King’s Speech” had been lauded throughout awards season, and it was the most-acclaimed component of a film that is the frontrunner for Best Picture.

Firth beat out Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”), Jeff Bridges (“True Grit”), James Franco (“127 Hours”) and Javier Bardem (“Biutiful”).
