WWE is teasing controversy over how this week’s WWE SmackDown! ended, with the company’s official website asking, “Who’s the world champion?” The controversy is a reference to how Edge defeated Dolph Ziggler on this week’s telecast.
From the SmackDown! results: “The Green Bay Packers’ Clay Matthews then charged to the ring as a second Special Guest Referee, making the three-count to secure Edge’s victory. However, the outcome of SmackDown’s main event became unclear when the injured Guerrero waved-off The Rated-R Superstar win. Who is the rightful holder of the World Title?”
Meanwhile, Dolph Ziggler wrote on Twitter, “Last night was a success! Kent State won the MAC Conference & I won the World Heavyweight Championship! Best Dolph Ziggler Day EVER! ;)”
— Rumors within the industry suggest that The Rock is to be announced as the WWE WrestleMania host. WWE has largely kept the move secret–sources say the details on McMahon’s announcement from RAW, for instance, were not even in the script–but indications are that he will probably be the major name involved.
Over on Twitter, Joey Styles has teased Justin Bieber as an ideal candidate to host the show. While WWE does want the “Never Say Never” star on the show, it is unclear that he would fit the company’s plans for the guest host role. (Partial Source: F4WOnline.com)
