Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” Leads Box Office, But “Just Go With It” Not Out

Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” kicked things off with a bang Friday night, but according to industry analysis, Adam Sandler-starrer “Just Go With It” is still the frontrunner to win the weekend.

Day one of the Bieber film grossed an impressive $12.4 million, topping the $9.7 million for “Just Go With It.” Even if the Sandler film, pacing for more than $30 million based on expectations of a strong Saturday, ends up on top, few can dismiss the impact of the relatively-inexpensive Bieber documentary.

Although its overall weekend is expected to come up short in comparison, “Never Say Never” earned far more in its first day than 2008’s “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds,” which grabbed $8.7 million on Friday en route to a $31.1 million weekend.

Behind the two heavy-hitters this weekend were “Gnomeo & Juliet” ($6.1 million Friday) and “The Eagle” ($2.8 million).
