Christian Bale, Melissa Leo Earn “The Fighter” Key Golden Globes

“The Fighter” might have an uphill battle in the Best Motion Picture category, but it will not be leaving the 68th Annual Golden Globes empty-handed. Its supporting actors swept their respective categories at the 2011 awards broadcast.

In the first award of the night, Christian Bale won the supporting actor in a drama prize for his work as Dicky Eklund in the acclaimed boxing picture.

Up against her co-star Amy Adams, Melissa Leo also won for her work as Alice Eklund.

Mark Wahlberg, who starred as Micky Ward, remains in contention for the lead actor award.
