Entertainment Weekly reports that Tracy Morgan, who plays an exaggerated version of himself in Tracy Jordan, will miss at least two upcoming episodes of NBC’s “30 Rock.”
Morgan will take the time to properly recover from his December 10 kidney transplant.
According to the EW report, the character’s absence, which will likely extend for two to three episodes, will be explained in storyline as the result of a “meltdown” he suffered, interestingly, when a “good thing happened to him.”
The Morgan-less episodes are due to air in March. The show returns this January at 10PM, launching the final hour of NBC’s new three-hour comedy block on Thursdays.
— Deadline’s Michael Ausiello reports that “24” actress Mary Lynn Rajskub will guest on an upcoming episode of FOX’s “Raising Hope.” Though not yet a proven hit outside the comfort zone of a “Glee” lead-in, the show has shown ratings promise with young adults since its September debut.
