Black Eyed Peas’ “The Beginning” Album Sales Pacing for Battle with “Glee”

The Black Eyed Peas foursome proved it can have chart longevity with the success of “The END,” and based on first week sales estimates for “The Beginning,” the group will need to rely on that trait again.

According to one day sales extensions from Hits Daily Double, the new studio album is pacing for a first week bow in the realm of 110-125,000. That forecast gives the group no shot of topping next week’s Billboard 200 album sales chart, and, in fact, will put “The Beginning” neck-and-neck with “Glee: The Music Volume 4” as the top new release.

After a few weeks of heavy artillery at the record stores, the post-Black Friday sales week will be considerably lighter as far as new records are concerned. Behind the Peas and “Glee,” among new releases, will be Jazmine Sullivan’s “Love Me Back” (55-60,000 forecast), Chrisette Michelle’s “Let Freedom Reign” (40-45,000 forecast) and Eric Benet’s “Lost in Time” (30-35,000 forecast).
