“Glee” Scores More Single Hits with “Forget You,” “Singing in the Rain”

The “Glee” cast follows up on its milestone week single sales week, which saw “Teenage Dream” score the best first-week total of any cover released to date, with another impressive performance week for its tracks.

But instead of new series regular Darren Criss leading the commercial wave, it was guest star Gwyneth Paltrow, whose performances achieved admirable success in their first week of release.

“Forget You,” the clean cover of Cee Lo Green’s “F*ck You,” moved 192,000 downloads en route to a number one spot on Billboard’s digital tracks chart. Though down from the “Teenage Dream” tally, the figure is higher than that of previous record-holder and signature “Glee” song “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which kicked off its run with 177,000 downloads after the May 2009 premiere.

The “Singing in the Rain/Umbrella” mash-up, with Paltrow and series star Matthew Morrison sharing key vocal duties, moved an impressive 140,000 downloads.

“Forget You” will start at 11 on the Hot 100 singles chart; “Singing” lands at 18.
