“Glee”‘s “Teenage Dream” To Become Show’s Best-Selling Cover?

The all-male “Glee” cover of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” which premiered during Tuesday’s episode, could achieve the show’s best-selling sales week to date.

According to Billboard, the cover, which features Darren Criss’ Blaine on lead vocals, is pacing for 150-175,000 first week downloads. If it lands just above that range, it could surpass “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which achieved 177,000 downloads in the week following the show’s May 2009 premiere.

Having already achieved the best opening day milestone by moving 55,000 copies in its bow, the “Teenage Dream” cover will certainly rank as the best-selling “Glee” single since “Total Eclipse of the Heart” moved 134,000 copies last season.

A top ten Billboard Hot 100 debut for the single is at least possible as of press tiem.
