ABC Officially Cancels “The Whole Truth”

Along with news that ABC has given back nine orders to freshmen “No Ordinary Family” and “Better with You” and a call for an additional five episodes of “Detroit 1-8-7” comes a report that “The Whole Truth” has been canceled.

Executive producer KristieAnne Reed confirmed on her Twitter that the show will not continue beyond its initial thirteen episode order.

“ABC gave us the word. We will only make 13 episodes of #thewholetruth,” wrote Reed, adding, “e’re still filming and will be until mid-December. Thanks for your support.”

“The Whole Truth” marked yet another failed entry in the network’s Wednesday at 10PM timeslot. While the show has had decent success with its comedies, particularly the 9PM tandem of “Modern Family” and “Cougar Town,” it has not been able to successfully build into that 10PM hour.

“Truth” is not the only freshmen series to bite the dust at ABC; the network had previously canceled Thursday show “My Generation” after a mere two episodes.
