“Law & Order: Los Angeles” Wins Ratings Race over “Defenders,” “Whole Truth”

While a second-week drop is expected, the series premiere of “Law & Order: Los Angeles” got off to an impressive start and helped NBC win the 10PM timeslot.

“LOLA” led a block full of legal shows with a strong 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and 10.52 million viewers. The new L&O spin-off topped CBS’ “The Defenders” (2.5 rating, 10.38 million) and ABC’s “The Whole Truth” (1.3 rating, 4.69 million viewers) to claim the slot. It also built on lead-in “Law & Order: SVU,” which scored a 2.7 rating with 9.25 million viewers.

NBC’s night was not all rosy, however, as freshman series “Undercovers” performed poorly at 8PM. After getting off to a slow start last week, things only ticked downward for week two, with the show registering a mere 1.6 adults 18-49 rating and 7.08 million viewers.
