“Top Chef” Picks Up Reality Emmy, “Mad Men” Wins Writing Emmy Award

“The Amazing Race”‘s streak of dominance in the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program category is finally over. The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards welcomed a new winner into the circle–“Top Chef.”

The program had been nominated previously, but like fellow nominees “American Idol,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “Project Runway,” it had never been able to crack “Race”‘s dominance.

In other awards news, “Mad Men” writers Erin Levy and Matthew Weiner won for “Shut the Door. Have a Seat.” Other nominees included “Mad Men”‘s “Guy Walks into an Advertising Agency,” “Friday Night Lights”‘s “The Son,” “The Good Wife”‘s pilot and “Lost”‘s “The End.”
