Roger Huerta is no longer under UFC contract, but that did not stop the company’s president Dana White from commenting on a video that allegedly showed Huerta achieving brutal victory in a physical “street” encounter.
TMZ.com posted a video Wednesday that appeared to show Huerta confronting a larger male individual outside of a bar in Austin, Texas. After witnessing the male knock a female down with a hard punch, the man identified as Huerta immediately confronts him.
The camera loses the two for a split second, and when it comes back, the two appear to be squaring up for a fight. At that point, the man then runs away, and Huerta chases after him. The initial physical encounter is not on the video; when it finally catches up to the two individuals, Huerta is annihilating the bloody, downed individual with an attack from the top that includes a vicious-looking stomp.
Huerta is eventually backed off, and a group of people surround the bloodied man who is eventually helped to his feet. Off-camera comments from people who witnessed the beginning of the confrontation remark that it was a “UFC fighter” who knocked the guy out. Huerta’s manager said he had not spoken to his client, “but I can say that it’s in his nature to be very protective of women.”
Meanwhile, his former boss Dana White told TMZ, “In no way do I condone street fighting, but when a guy puts his hands on a woman he deserves to be knocked the f*ck out. Good for Roger.”
