Dolph Lundgren, best known as “Rocky IV” villian Ivan Drago, will guest on the season premire of NBC’s “Chuck,” as confirmed in a Tweet from the show’s creator Josh Schwartz.
The identity of the character was not revealed, but Schwartz’s Tweet–and common sense–suggest he will be portraying a villain.
Lundgren can next be seen as part of the all-star action cast of “The Expendables.”
— In other guest casting news, THR confirmed Wednesday that Betty White will continue her string of television appearances with a spot on NBC’s “Community.” In a turn NBC hopes will provide some support against the threat of new timeslot competitor “The Big Bang Theory,” White has been cast as anthropology professor June Bauer.
How viewers react to the White appearance will be interesting. For all the buzz about her wildly successful hosting gig on “SNL” and the strong ratings for her cable series “Hot in Cleveland,” White appeared on “The Middle” last season to virtually no fanfare.
Though less popular overall, “Community” does possess more of a rapport with the internet culture crowd that made Betty White such a big deal this past year than “The Middle” does, so there is still optimism she can make an impact.
