“True Blood” Ratings Tick Up, “Hung,” “Entourage” Open Down

Although flagship HBO series “True Blood” achieved a week-over-week ratings increase, its improved performance was not enough to help the “Hung” and “Entourage” premieres avoid an erosion from last year.

“True Blood” moved up to 4.455 million viewers with a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating, according to Mediaweek, jumping slightly form last week’s 4.259 million viewers (and same 2.5 rating).

“Hung,” however, followed with just a 1.3 rating and 2.447 million viewers, marking a viewership decline of more than 30% from the first episode that aired in this trifecta block last year. “Entourage” was down as well, falling from 3.4 million viewers to 2.479 million viewers with a 1.5 rating.

The equivalent episode of “True Blood” last year only scored 3.7 million viewers, so this year’s episode actually provided a much stronger lead-in.
