Entertainment Weekly confirmed this week that Jordana Spiro has been dropped from the cast of NBC’s upcoming comedy “Love Bites.”
If and how NBC will go about recasting Spiro, who co-starred in the pilot with in-demand former “Ugly Betty” actress Becki Newton, are questions that remain to be answered. What has been answered, however, is that the “My Boys” actress will not be a regular on the new anthology comedy.
Because her TBS series “My Boys” has not been formally canceled (and returns for its fourth season soon), Spiro would technically have been bound to two series if NBC proceeded with her in the “Love Bites” cast. Although a fifth season for “My Boys” is considered a longshot, NBC apparently decided it did not want to risk having a dually-booked leading lady.
With “Perfect Couples,” which stars “My Boys”‘s Kyle Howard, slated for a midseason launch, it has yet to be determined whether Howard, too, will be removed from the cast of his upcoming NBC show.
