In conjunction with the airing of the critically-acclaimed series’ third season finale comes a report that “Breaking Bad” has officially scored a fourth season at AMC.
A critical darling that has earned a best series Emmy nomination and consecutive leading actor victories for star Bryan Cranston, the show’s seemingly-obvious renewal was held up due to budgetary concerns. But Deadline reported Sunday night that a compromise was reached, and negotiations that had been ongoing since April came to a happy ending.
According to the story, AMC wanted to greenlight an episodic production budget of $3.1 million for the fourth season; the show’s creative team, however, was looking for $3.3 million. The deal landed somewhere in the middle, and an official announcement confirming the renewal is due soon.
