“Burn Notice,” “Royal Pains” Premiere to Huge Ratings

USA Network kicked its summer off in a big way Thursday, as breezy summer series “Burn Notice” and “Royal Pains” posted strong season premiere ratings.

“Notice” launched its latest set of episodes with its biggest season premiere number ever, averaging 6.618 million viewers. The figure was up 10% from last summer’s premiere and 24% from the winter opener.

The show scored 2.575 million viewers in the 18-49 demo (2.0 rating), with 2.932 million watchers aged 25-54 and 1.198 million aged 18-34.

While “Royal Pains” did not build on its lead-in, it was still a strong performer for the network. Its 5.839 million person audience was up 5% from last year’s series premiere, and it scored strong numbers in the demos. Among adults 18-49, it was good for 2.36 million (1.8 rating).

The show garnered 2.644 million viewers in the 25-54 demo and 1.111 million in the 18-34 category.
