“American Idol” Finalist Casey James Sparks Buzz for “Jealous Guy”

“American Idol” performances were all the rage on the Internet following Tuesday’s Lennon-McCartney themed show, with a number of notables climbing to the top of Google’s search index.

As of 1AM Wednesday morning, “didgeridoo” was the most popular search on the Internet. The instrument was played prominently during finalist Crystal Bowersox’s rendition of “Come Together” (‘come together lyrics’ is currently the web’s ninth most popular search).

Leading the song-specific search charge is Casey James’ rendition of “Jealous Guy.” James’ take on the John Lennon song propelled searches for ‘jealous guy lyrics,’ currently the third most sought-after query on the web. Siobhan Magnus’ “Across the Universe” positioned ‘across the universe lyrics’ as the fourth most popular search.

Coming in at nineteenth was the query ‘hey jude lyrics.’ Lee DeWyze performed “Hey Jude” as the show’s closing number.

Headline Planet’s weekly “Idol” performance critique column will be published Wednesday morning.
