“American Idol” Books Rihanna For Beatles Week Performance

In one of the more unusual “American Idol” performance pairings, the show has confirmed that Rihanna will perform in conjunction with the upcoming Beatles week.

FOX confirmed that the Baja Diva will sing “Te Amo” on next Wednesday’s results show. Booking a chart-topper like Rihanna for an “Idol” performance is hardly surpising, but doing so during a week in which the contestants will perform songs from the Lennon-McCartney songbook is newsworthy.

The nine remaining “Idol” contestants tackle the songs of John Lennon and Paul McCartney next week, marking the return of the Beatles theme that debuted in season seven.
