— This past weekend’s edition of “Saturday Night Live,” which featured NBA great Charles Barkley as host and Alicia Keys as the musical guest, drew a season-high 10.4 million viewers with a 4.4 in adults 18-49. The rating was the show’s best since the November 1, 2008 telecast, which featured Ben Affleck, David Cook and then-Presidential hopeful John McCain.
— CBS officially renewed “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “The Good Wife” for second seasons. “NCIS: LA” leads all new series in total viewership, while “The Good Wife” consistently–and easily–wins its 10PM timeslot on Tuesdays.
“Two great new series, fronted by talented stars on one big night of television,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. “We’re proud of these shows and what they’ve accomplished on Tuesday night.”
— Despite a ratings decline since its successful series premiere, “Men of a Certain Age” also got the renewal treatment Thursday, scoring a 10-episode second season from TNT.
