“The Office” loaded up the first half of its season, lumping Jim’s promotion to co-manager, Pam and Jim’s wedding and the financial demise of Dunder Mifflin all into the pre-winter portion.
But the show’s big storyline plans for season six are far from over. NBC revealed plans for two major plot developments at the winter Television Critics Association press tour.
Spoilers for these plans follow:
— As was noted prior to “The Office” going on hiatus, Dunder Mifflin was sold to a company that planned to fire the entire executive board. NBC confirmed that Kathy Bates will guest as the CEO of Sabre, “the mysterious company that buys Dunder Mifflin.”
Said NBC in a press release, “The charismatic and iconoclastic CEO is the most exciting guest the Scranton branch has ever seen – and a Southern charmer who has always done things her way. Bates will appear in a multi-episode arc beginning on Thursday, February 4.”
— Meanwhile, Jim and Pam will celebrate the birth of their baby in a two-part episode held over March 4 and 11.
