A vocalist on two of the most-downloaded singles in recent memory–Flo Rida’s “Right Round” and her own “TiK ToK,” Ke$ha can add a hot-selling album to her list of early career accomplishments.
According to one-day sales extensions from Hits Daily Double, the raunchy electro-pop singer/songwriter’s debut album “Animal” will score more than 105,000 first week sales and compete with Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed a Dream” for the top spot on next week’s Billboard 200.
The figure will easily top the first frame total for Katy Perry’s “One of the Boys,” which fell short of 50,000. Perry, purportedly a friend of Ke$ha’s, broke through in similar fashion with the edgy “I Kissed a Girl” in 2008.
It will also dominate Katharine McPhee’s “Unbroken,” the only other major new entry. The latest album from the “American Idol” finalist is pacing for about 13-15,000 first week sales.
