Neither the Winter Wonderland theme nor the storyline involving Jasper pushing Navid down the stairs captivated “90210” viewers, as the show posted a poor 1.0 adults 18-49 rating with just 1.9 million viewers Tuesday night.
Down more than 13% from last week’s soft showing (against no scripted competition), “90210” hit dangerous territory this week. Leadout “Melrose Place” also dipped, returning to its 0.7 rating, 1.3 million viewer bottom despite the continued presence of Heather Locklear.
The news was not bad for all series. NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” finale posted a healthy 5.0 rating with 13.5 million viewers. The highest-rated “Loser” in four years, the finale also produced a huge spike for “The Jay Leno Show,” which rose to a strong 2.9 with 8.4 million viewers.
ABC’s “Better off Ted,” one of the year’s “how in the world did this earn a renewal” series, kicked off its season with just 3.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating. “Scrubs” led into the half-hour with a 2.3 rating and 5.4 million viewers. “The Forgotten” disappointed at 10PM with 4.3 million viewers and a 1.3.
FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” earned a 2.4 rating with 6.2 million watchers.
