DNA India reports that Dalip “The Great Khali” Singh Rana has been suspended from his role with the Punjab Police.
According to Arunpal Singh, Commandant of 7th Batallion of Punjab Armed Police, Khali was granted leave until December of last year, during which he participated in pro wrestling and acting endeavors.
He applied for an additional five years off, but he was not granted such an “extraordinary circumstances” leave of absence and was thus required to report back to duty. He did not, so the suspension resulted.
“As per the rule, Dalip Singh Rana (Khali) was not entitled to any further leave and there was no option other than to suspend him”, said Arunpal Singh.
