— News broke Wednesday that FOX has decided to pass on ordering additional season two episodes of “Dollhouse.” The show’s run will end once its current thirteen episode order is completed.
The show had been a ratings disappointment from the get-go, but a combination of solid DVR numbers and a passionate cult fanbase helped the show survive for a second season.
Ratings for season two reached new lows, however, and the network was forced to bring an end to the Joss Whedon series.
Fans will nonetheless be happy to know that FOX plans to air the remaining season two episodes (some of which have not yet been produced), which means Whedon and company will get to bring the story to a close.
— ABC, similarly, passed on ordering additional episodes of new comedy “Hank.” Along with “Eastwick,” “Hank” performed notably worse than ABC’s other freshman comedies, leading to the unsurprising cancellation decision. As of now, it is unclear whether or not the remaining “Hank” episodes will ever air.
