Report: “Glee” Concert Tour in the Works?

Entertainment Weekly reports that a live concert tour with the “Glee” cast is presently in preliminary discussion stages.

The show has become a bona fide pop culture hit–its solid ratings scored an early full season pickup from FOX, and numerous studio recordings from the show have ranked highly on the iTunes and Billboard Hot 100 charts.

The “Glee” version of “Don’t Stop Believing,” for instance, charted higher than the original Journey version of the song ever did. “Somebody to Love,” a more recent “Glee” single, has meanwhile generated notable buzz within the music community.

FOX’s Kevin Reilly had hinted at a tour possibility earlier this year–“Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s lots of things that could happen”–and “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy recently told Entertainment Weekly that a tour could potentially be launched in the spring of 2010 after production on season one wraps.
