“Cloudy” Rains On “Surrogates,” “Fame” At Weekend Box Office

Well-reviewed “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” fended off several newcomers to claim a second consecutive weekend box office victory.

The family film added an estimated $24.6 million to its take this weekend, giving it a healthy finish at the top of the heap. New release “Surrogates” was second with $15 million, while “Fame” debuted at third with $10 million.

“The Informant!” and “Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself” rounded out the top five with $6.9 million and $4.8 million, respectively, while “Pandorum” opened its box office run with a paltry $4.4 million.
