Kanye West Calls Taylor Swift, Barack Obama Weighs In

As the world debated Kanye West’s emotional discussion about the MTV Video Music Awards incident on Monday’s “The Jay Leno Show” premiere and awaited Taylor Swift’s appearance on “The View,” the latest in the Kanye West-Taylor Swift saga came from an unlikely source.

News broke late yesterday/early today that US President Barack Obama had allegedly called West a “jackass” for interrupting Taylor Swift as she accepted the Best Female Video award. Obama reportedly made the comment during an off-the-record discussion with CNBC, but the remark ended up going public on Terry Moran’s Twitter. Though soon pulled, the comment reached all the major entertainment media outlets.

As for Swift on “The View,” the actress stuck to the theme of her comments on Monday, acknowledging the stirring nature of the situation without waging a personal attack at West. Following her appearance on the show, Swift received a personal phone call from West–she accepted the included apology.
