— Though it has long been reported that Adrianne Palicki will not be returning as a series regular on “Friday Night Lights,” there had been hope among fans that she would reprise her role of Tyra for several episodes in the fourth season. That return appearance might be out the window.
Speaking to EW.com, Palicki said that while the producers want her to return, “I’m actually going to be shooting [Red Dawn] during the fourth season, so I don’t know if I’m going back.” Palicki noted the prospect of leaving the “Friday Night Lights” family makes her “very sad.”
— Amy Acker, who has been booked on ABC’s “Happy Town,” will be appear in three season two episodes of “Dollhouse,” according to EW.
— One of the big TV news items to come out of Comic-Con so far concerns the fate of “Lost” character Juliet (played by Elizabeth Mitchell). Mitchell’s character personally (as in, with a rock) detonated the potentially game-changing hydrogen bomb at the conclusion of season five, and her fate–as well as that of the other survivors who traveled back to the 1970s–was left ambiguous. Booked as a regular on ABC’s new series “V,” many have speculated that Mitchell’s character is done on the show.
Yet, speaking to EW at Comic-Con, the actress greatly implied she would make some season six appearances. Noting that her storyline “hasn’t really reached its end yet,” she said, “There are other things happening in the next season.”
Mitchell added that “Lost” showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have said that her role on “V” will not prevent her from making appearances during the final “Lost” season (though she did not explicitly state whether a set number of appearances have been confirmed or what the nature of the Juliet character’s possible return will be).
