FOX extended goodwill to its passionate sci-fi drama fans with the surprising renewal of freshman series “Dollhouse.” But the network was unfortunately only willing to show support to one of its struggling cult series.
Word came in Sunday that FOX has officially canceled “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”
Though cancellation was considered inevitable ever since the show suffered a ratings drop this season—its second—some fans have nonetheless maintained a glimmer of hope. After all, this has been the season of network support for beloved shows that struggle in the ratings–“Friday Night Lights” received a multiple season renewal, “Heroes” received an early renewal despite a massive drop in viewership and critical reception, bubble series “Scrubs” and “Better off Ted” scored continuations at ABC and endangered shows “Dollhouse” and “Chuck” both received thirteen episode commitments for next year.
“Terminator,” however, did not earn a place on FOX’s schedule and, as will be made definitively official at FOX’s upfront this week, has officially completed its run on television.
