Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night” Leading Races For #1 At Pop, Hot Adult Contemporary Radio

“Dance The Night” is trending toward the top spot at both formats.

By the end of the week, Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night” could be a two-format radio #1. The “Barbie” soundtrack single is trending toward the top spot on this week’s Mediabase pop and hot adult contemporary radio charts.

“Dance The Night” received 6,915 pop spins during the first three days of the September 3-9 tracking period, while notching 2,431 spins at the hot adult contemporary format. The spin counts position “Dance The Night” at #1 on the building chart for both formats.

Because the song does not hold a significant lead, it is too early to definitively declare “Dance The Night” this week’s winner. It does, however, have an encouraging momentum advantage. Whereas it is up 7% at both formats, Taylor Swift’s building #2 “Cruel Summer” is down at both formats. Olivia Rodrigo’s “vampire,” which is also near the top of the building pop chart, is also down in week-to-week airplay.
