Update: “Boyz (featuring Nicki Minaj),” the debut solo single from former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson, is enjoying a strong opening day on the US iTunes store.

Very shortly after its release, the song rocketed into the Top 5 of the store’s all-genre song sales chart. By later Friday morning, it had reached #1 on the listing.

“Boyz” remains atop the chart as of noon ET.

Jesy Nelson’s “Boyz (featuring Nicki Minaj)” is making a predictably substantial early impact at the US iTunes store.

The song began flying up the store’s all-genre sales chart immediately after its release at midnight late Thursday/early Friday. As of press time at 1:30AM ET, “Boyz” occupies the #5 position on the listing.

Only Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like” (#1), Ed Sheeran’s “Shivers” (#2), Coldplay & BTS’ “My Universe” (#3), and Elton John & Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” (#4) are currently selling at a faster pace, and that hierarchy could certainly change in the coming hours.

Released via Republic Records, “Boyz” marks Nelson’s first release since departing Little Mix. An accompanying music video, embedded below, also launched at midnight.
