Disney Channel Orders New Series “Ultra Violet & Blue Demon,” Starring Scarlett Estevez & Blue Demon Jr

Scarlett Estevez will play “Ultra” Violet, while the wrestling star will play a version of himself.

Disney Channel has issued a series order to “Ultra Violet & Blue Demon,” a new live action comedy series in which famed luchador Blue Demon Jr plays a version of himself.

In the series, Blue Demon, Jr is not simply a Mexican wrestler but a superhero in disguise. A magical luchador mask selects his 13-year-old niece Violet (Scarlett Estevez) as his superhero successor.

He begins training Violet, who concurrently deals with life as a middle schooler.

“As they start to work together, Uncle Blue realizes he can learn a few things from Ultra’s modern Gen-Z take on crime-fighting,” says the synopsis.

The cast also includes Marianna Burelli as Violet’s mother, Nina; Juan Alfonso as Violet’s father, Sebastian; Brandon Rossel as Violet’s brother, Miguelito; Zelia Ankrum as Violet’s best friend, Trudy; and Bryan Blanco as Violet’s goody-two-shoes classmate Enrique Diaz-Diaz. Disney has not yet announced a premiere date.
