Garth Brooks Named Entertainer Of Year At CMA Awards; Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs Win For Top Vocalists

Garth, Kacey and Luke won the night’s three highest-profile awards.

The biggest prize of Wednesday’s CMA Awards ceremony went to Garth Brooks.

The iconic artist again won for Entertainer of the Year, beating out Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton and Eric Church. Brooks is celebrating his third win in four years; Urban broke the streak with a win last year.

The night’s other big artist winners included Kacey Musgraves (Female Vocalist), Luke Combs (Male Vocalist), Old Dominion (Vocal Group), Dan + Shay (Vocal Duo) and Ashley McBryde (New Vocalist). Key record winners included Maren Morris’ “GIRL” for album, Combs’ “Beautiful Crazy” for song and Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country” for single.

Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton hosted the show, which was positioned as a tribute to the women of country.
