By virtue of tradition and the team’s immense popularity, the Dallas Cowboys’ annual Thanksgiving Day game is one of the highest-profile regular season NFL contests.
Taking place on November 28, this year’s game will find the Cowboys hosting the Buffalo Bills. Ellie Goulding, meanwhile, will take the stage as the halftime show performer.
The live performance kicks off the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign. This year marks the 129th iteration of the endeavor, “which helps provide shelter and meals for the homeless and hungry, Christmas toys for children and social service programs to millions of people in need year-round.”
“I am honored to perform at the Dallas Cowboys halftime show and kick off The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign,” says Goulding. “With so many people in need, I believe it’s our duty to help, and I encourage everyone to donate to The Salvation Army. The money they raise during the Red Kettle Campaign will change lives for the better all year long.”
