Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey’s “Don’t Call Me Angel” Scores First Day Pop Radio Airplay

“Don’t Call Me Angel” enjoyed a solid first day at the pop radio format.

No, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey’s “Don’t Call Me Angel” did not receive the widespread “on the hour” first day airplay afforded to several of Grande’s recent launches.

The star-studded collaboration did, however, receive plenty of support Friday.

According to Mediabase, Myrtle Beach’s Energy 92.1 ranked as the top supporter. The station had played “Don’t Call Me Angel” 20 times by the end of Friday.

Other big early supporters include Cleveland’s 96.5 KISS (12 spins), Seattle’s 106.1 KISS (12 spins), Des Moines’ 107.5 KISS (11 spins), San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW (10 spins), Detroit’s Channel 95.5 (10 spins), and Minnesota’s 101.3 KDWB (10 spins).

Dozens of other stations offered between 2-9 spins.

“Don’t Call Me Angel” is the lead single from the “Charlie’s Angels” film soundtrack.
