Becky Lynch Comments On Taylor Swift’s New Song “The Man”

“A woman can be The Man. I am that woman.”

Over the past year, WWE superstar Becky Lynch has risen to the top of the pro wrestling ranks with her “The Man” gimmick. She headlined WrestleMania and is one of the most (if not the most) “over” acts in the business.

It should therefore come as no surprise that she commented on Taylor Swift’s new song “The Man.”

Released as part of Swift’s new album “Lover,” the track addresses the double standard facing women. A Swiftian take on the “why are men called players, but women called sluts” discussion, Swift argues that if she did the things she did as a man, she would be celebrated rather than criticized.

“If I was a man, then I’d be The Man,” sings Swift in the chorus.

In her lighthearted Twitter response, Lynch predictably notes that one does not actually have to be a man to be The Man.

“A woman can be The Man,” writes Lynch. “I am that woman. #IAmTheMan.”

While not as popular as the recent Tweet announcing her engagement to Seth Rollins, Lynch’s post has resonated with Twitter users. It boasts nearly 2K retweets and 14K likes as of press time.
