Ratings Update: 2019 Teen Choice Awards Ceremony Sinks To All-Time Low

FOX’s broadcast delivered another weak performance.

Update: The overnight ratings report was not misleading: the 2019 Teen Choice Awards ceremony set a franchise low in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s broadcast drew a mere 0.2 adults 18-49 rating and 0.66 million viewers in the 8PM hour. It posted a 0.3 and 0.78 million at 9PM.

The averages trail the 0.4 rating and 1.03 million posted by last year’s broadcast, which at the time ranked as the lowest-rated on record.

FOX’s Teen Choice Awards ceremony has been a soft ratings performer for the past several years. It sank to an all-time low in 2018.

Based on the overnight numbers, the 2019 edition may challenge for that dubious distinction.

According to data posted by Programming Insider, Sunday’s broadcast drew a 0.5 overnight household rating. The number trails the 0.6 rating garnered by last year’s broadcast.

There is no guarantee this year’s show also trailed last year’s broadcast in adults 18-49 (0.4) and overall viewership (1.03 million), but it definitely did not do much better. This year’s iterations of those numbers will arrive by noon ET.
