Based on very early data, Chance The Rapper’s new album “The Big Day” looks like a contender for #1 on the US album chart.
According to Hits Daily Double, the album is pacing to sell 24-27K pure US copies this week. With units from track sales and streams included, it may generate 90-100K in first-week units.
Should the consumption figure hold, “The Big Day” will be in the mix for #1. The only other obvious contender is NF’s “The Search,” which Hits expects to generate 80-90K in first-week units. The NF album will, however, likely post a bigger pure sales total.
Projections are always rough at this point, and the “Big Day” data may be particularly tentative due to the album’s slightly late arrival. Stay tuned to Headline Planet for updates on this week’s album race.
