Ratings: HBO’s “Euphoria” Holds At Demo High, Dips Slightly In Viewership For Episode 5

“Euphoria” delivered its second-best performance of the season.

Last week’s “Euphoria” rose to live+same-day highs in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

This week’s episode, the show’s fifth installment on record, matched the demo high. It meanwhile endured a slight decline in overall viewership.

According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Euphoria” drew a 0.21 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 0.58 million overall viewers. Last week’s episode posted a 0.21 in the demo and 0.61 million in viewership.

This week’s broadcast nonetheless beat the prior three installments in overall viewership. “Euphoria,” moreover, has already been renewed for a second season.

“Euphoria” led out of “Big Little Lies.” After delivering a 0.45 rating and 1.77 million viewers last week, the Emmy-winning series dropped to a 0.39 and 1.63 million this week. While this week’s demo rating is actually below the season average, the viewership figure was the second-best of the season (six episodes have aired).

Both “Euphoria” and “Big Little Lies” routinely receive lifts from streaming, DVR and on-demand viewership, but those numbers may have taken a slight hit this week. The HBO Now service was down for at least a few hours Sunday night.
