Kygo & Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” Scores Pop Radio Airplay In New York, Omaha, More

New York’s 103.5 KTU is leading the way.

Kygo & Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” has thus far been the week’s best-selling new song. Befitting its early resonance, some pop radio stations are starting to provide airplay.

According to Mediabase, New York’s 103.5 KTU had played the song 8 times as of Sunday, June 30. Omaha’s Channel 94.1 provided 4 spins, while other stations – including Chicago’s 103.5 KISS and Orlando’s XL106.7 – have played it once or twice.

The late Whitney Houston originally covered Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” as a bonus track in 1990. The just-released version finds Kygo reworking the archival recording to share Houston’s iconic vocals — and the iconic track — with a new audience.
