According to Mediabase, the song had received 901 pop plays by the end of Friday. It had meanwhile amassed 201 spins at the hot adult contemporary format.

The counts respectively position “You Need To Calm Down” at #40 and #45 on the building/real-time pop and Hot AC radio charts. Those charts rank songs based on airplay for the first six days of the June 9-15 tracking period.

“You Need To Calm Down” also had big opening days on US iTunes and Spotify, earning #1 on both charts.
