“Killing Eve” Reaches #1 On US Twitter Trending Chart Following Season Finale

The AMC/BBC America show is the #1 trending topic in the United States.

Unlike the past six episodes, Sunday’s “Killing Eve” finale did not air on the same night as an original “Game Of Thrones” episode.

Thanks to that reality (and, of course, buzzy narrative development), the episode has been able to claim a greater share of the conversational spotlight on Twitter.

As of press time at 10PM ET — a full hour after the conclusion of the initial BBC America and AMC simulcast — “Killing Eve” remains the #1 US trending topic on the social platform.

In reporting on the trend, Twitter draws attention to a plethora of conversations around character Villanelle.

— While users do not have a new “Game Of Thrones” episode to watch and discuss, some clearly are tuning into HBO’s two-hour “The Last Watch” documentary. Said documentary is the #3 US trending topic, behind only “Killing Eve” and Derrick “D-Rose” Rose.
